ELEMENTARY MATH PURPOSE STATEMENT

Students Responding to Teacher

To develop students who are capable of reasoning through real-world mathematical problems and are equipped with transferable strategies to communicate, problem-solve, and successfully navigate independently in the world of mathematics.

Through the implementation of this framework, students will be able to:
  • understand and appreciate the value of mathematics;
  •  explain and justify different approaches to solving problems, while considering reasonable solutions;
  • respectfully defend different approaches to problem-solving using mathematical argument; and
  • analyze mathematical relationships to connect mathematical ideas.
